City between tradition and history

Unmissable Palazzo Panitteri, one of the most important monuments of Sambuca, which once constituted the old walls of the original Zabut (today Sambuca). In the visit of Sciacca the Castello Incantato and the Castello Luna are a must-see. The first is a unique place populated by thousands of heads carved in the rock, in the branches and trunks of olive trees. The Castello Luna which rises from the rocks in a dominant position in the upper eastern part of the city is linked to the Case of Sciacca, a bloody clash between the two noble families: the Luna of Catalan origin and the Perollo of Normann origin which plagued the city for two centuries.
